Unlicensed prodct - pink bar

Outlook – Unlicensed product error

Why does this happen?

We lease the license from Microsoft for Office products. The license is tied to your username and password. When you change your password, the license will continue to use the old password and hence you will see the message that the product is not licensed. Re-entering the password, closing and re-opening the program usually fixes the issue.

Why do I have to enter it multiple times?

UPIC has multiple desktop servers and depending on the load on a server you may be directed to any one of them. Each server has a separate instance of the Microsoft product. After you change your password, depending on which desktop server you are directed to you will have refresh the password to re-authenticate that instance of the Microsoft license. Once the license is renewed you will not be asked to enter the password on that server until you change your password.

How the fix the issue?

When you see the following screen shot, click on the pink bar.

You will then be directed to the following screen, click the button “Fix me”

A window with the United Way logo will pop up, enter your new password, click “Sign in”. Close the program and re-open it. Now you will not see the unlicensed product message.

If the problem persists, submit a support ticket to support@uwcm.org or call 1-877-459-5489.
